Agsar started out in the 1960s as a small paints and oxide manufacturer under the name "Agsar Chemicals" — founded by five enthusiastic brothers: Alagappan, Ganeshan, Shenbagam, Arumugasamy and Rajamanickam. The very first registered head office was set up right here in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. The enterprise got a major expansion boost after being incorporated as Agsar Paints Private Limited in 1974 — and has been reinventing itself ever since.
